Meeting the Western Front Association

I went to a meeting with the Western Front Association at Pimperne in December 2013. There were lots of artefacts and memorabilia to look at and very interesting people happy to share their knowledge. I learned about Friendship Badges.  These were worn by people at home, wives, mothers and others to show their support and connection to a loved one who was away fighting.

Canaries was the name given to munitions workers because the chemicals that they used turned their hair, skin and clothes yellow.
