Our next production, Belonging: our Search for Home, will take place in the landscape of Kingston Lacy, Wimborne between September 22 – 27, as one of four strands of a Landmark Project within Wimborne Dorset Town of Culture 2026 programme.

The production is based on research by WCT members about what the idea of Home means to us in our expanding town, both in relation to contemporary ideas but also through historical stories.  The show will be directed by Merley-based Dorsetborn’s Rohan Gotobed.

A fair full of secrets. A landscape full of noises.                                                                           A teenager about to leave Wimborne. An old man with something still unsaid.  The legends of the gardens walk among us, with their stories to tell. Everyone’s looking for somewhere to belong.

The landscape of Kingston Lacy is at the heart of this new theatre production created by Wimborne Community Theatre and developed by and for the local community. In this compelling and dreamlike production the audience will be guided on a magical and immersive journey to discover, Is home a place or a feeling?

With a cast of adults and young people, ‘Belonging’ celebrates 35 years of Wimborne Community Theatre creating locally made site-specific theatre, inspired by the environment of East Dorset and the lives of people, past and present

The performance starts at 7pm, but we invite you to explore our interactive fair from 6.30pm, the gates open at 6.15pm.
