A week of events celebrating the River Allen at Walford Mill October 16, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 from 10 am to 4 pm (Walford Mill closed Monday 18 & Tuesday 19) As part of Wimborne’s Green Festival, in celebration of the River Allen, one of Europe’s purest wild chalk rivers. Ticketed Events    See flyer Side 1 Timeless Stream - a short performance event - October, 21,22, 23 at 6 pm Set on the riverbank at Walford Mill in the evening.  Come and celebrate the beauty and diversity of creatures and organisms living on and in the river, and how interconnected we all are. Book early, audience limited. £5 adults, accompanied children free Family Creative Willow Workshops Saturday, October 16 10 am – 4 pm ( 3 sessions at 10 – 12; 12 – 2;  2 - 4.  Sessions 90 mins approx. or stay longer) at Walford Mill, Wimborne. Suitable for adults/young people/families (under 12s to be accompanied). Free but booking necessary. Led by artists, Heidi Steller & Clare Small, participants will make structures inspired by river stories and creatures, to float on the River Allen as part of the Timeless Stream performances. Tel:  01202 886116                                    OPEN EVENTS  See flyer Side 2 Undercurrents - inside Walford Mill Gallery, Wednesday - Sunday.   Free event A multimedia installation of sounds, stories, poems and memories about the river by Allenbourn School students and local people, collaged into a visual and sonic installation by sound artists, Adrian Newton, Lynn Davy, Arthur Newton and David Roger. Short Films reflecting the Allen - inside Walford Mill Gallery, Wednesday - Sunday.  Free event The Poet Fish of the River Allen - a short animation by Hannah Small and Clare Small.  Free event Relaxing by the River - a new music video, written and sung by Millstream Theatre, a group of actors with learning disabilities.  Free event Liquid Gold A celebration of Chalk Streams by Hugh Miles  Free event The Great Rinsing: Angler Film - shown as part of WCT’s production The Great Rinsing set in Wimborne’s Pump House. Film by Dan Horitz, Words by Jonathan Petherbridge, Voice of Water: Dan Copeland    Free event Sound Fishing  -  Come and try sound fishing on the river bank, with interactive demonstrations by Adrian Newton, who will share his ‘Sound Fishing’ recordings of the interior sound world of the River Stour, captured with a pair of hydrophones suspended from fishing rods.  Free event Sound Walk along the River Allen - Adrian Newton’s Sound Walk will become available on October 16. Take a leisurely walk along the river from Walford Bridge, listening to sounds made by creatures living in the river Allen.
