Undercurrents – a multi-media exhibition

Undercurrents:
A Multimedia Installation celebrating the River Allen
River sounds, stories, poems and memories about the River Allen contributed and performed by students from Allenbourn Middle School and other local people, gathered by WCT and collaged into a visual and sonic installation by sound artists, Adrian Newton, Lynn Davy, Arthur Newton and David Rogers.

https://youtu.be/6dIOVyCt1hY https://youtu.be/_bD1lcItgJY Undercurents 3 is a live performance created by Adrian Newton and David Rogers during the event. https://youtu.be/GQ4VU_2VYTA   The exhibition, in partnership with Wimborne Community Theatre, was shown at Walford Mill in October.  It was part of a week of events to celebrate the beauty and diversity of creatures and organisms living on and in the river, and how interconnected we all are.  This theme was central to Timeless Stream, a performance by Wimborne Community Theatre.       Other events included  an opportunity to try Sound Fishing on the river bank, with interactive demonstrations by Adrian Newton, who shared his ‘Sound Fishing’ recordings of the interior sound world of the River Stour, captured with a pair of hydrophones suspended from fishing rods.     Sound Walk along the River AllenAdrian Newton and David Rogers' Sound Walk is still available.  Take a leisurely walk along the river from Walford Bridge, listening to sounds made by creatures living in the river Allen.
